Mike DiGiovanni recognized by University of Detroit Mercy

Mike DiGiovanni was recognized by University of Detroit Mercy for his professional success, as well as his deep and ongoing commitment to mentorship and community service.   Mike co-led with GM's Heidi Magyar the development of the Student Corps program, a program initiated (in 2013) and funded by General Motors. From its outset, the Student Corps has partnered with the University of Detroit Mercy and other community stakeholders. And together, they built a model that pairs high school students from under-resourced schools with retired GM executives and college mentors to plan and lead community service projects.  More detail about Mike's accomplishments, as well as a scholarship Mike established to support GM Student Corps at UDM, is available in the linked article below.

Club Members Celebrate Kettering/GMI Alumni Connections Week 

​September 13, 2023
The GM Executive Alumni Club of Michigan recognized our Kettering/GMI grads at the September 13 meeting in celebration of Alumni Connections Week.  Alumni Connections Week is a week-long gathering of Kettering/GMI alums to network and re-connect with classmates and friends.  Many of our club members are GMI grads and we had nine of them in attendance at our meeting!

Gary Cummings Recognized by Purdue University Bands & Orchestras

Gary Cummings was recently recognized by the Purdue Bands and Orchestras program with an Alumni Achievement Award based on remarkable achievement during his career.  Gary received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Purdue University and was a tuba player in the All-American Marching Band.  He was also a member of the Boiler Brass ensemble which performs at Purdue men's basketball games and a member of Kappa Kappa Psi music fraternity.  Gary was recognized for his distinguished career at GM where he served as a product development executive.  Highlights of his career include serving as Chief Chassis Product Development Executive for LAAM while living in Sao Paulo, serving as Lead Chassis Engineer for Corvette, Camaro, and Firebird, and leading GM University Relations with Purdue.  Boiler Up!
